We draw our inspiration from a facet of Zen philosophy, in the importance of silence of mind (or lack of thought, literally no-mind). Though we make no claims on the nature of existence or enlightenment, we do find that the less one must think about a task, the easier it becomes. Why introduce more thought and guesswork into a person's existence when we can streamline and simplify their life? Why distract a user from the thoughts they wish to pursue with thoughts dedicated to learning complex procedures and deciphering counter-intuitive designs?

Designing software is not simply a job of writing a program to accomplish a task. It is creating a product that meets the needs of a task, while requiring minmal effort on the part of the user. If a software product is complex and convoluted, a user is unlikely to be satisfied with it, even if it performs the function it was designed for. Software is supposed to make a user's life easier and more efficient. Thus, it should not require a steep learning curve, but should play to a user's intuitions and make all functionality easily accessible. Even moreso, it should take into account what the program was designed for, and make those options most frequently used the ones most accessible.

Thus, all of our software is centered around our user's needs. The development of the user interface is an integral part of our design process. Focus on the user's interaction with our software is as important as the functionality underlying the product. One of these facets alone will not make a software product successful, it is only by blending the two that software can be maximally useful and efficient.

Finally, all our software is versatile and adaptable, being made as general and modular as possible in anticipation and facilitation of expansion.
